Estero wildlife control tip of the month:

How do you know if you have a squirrel in your attic?

Squirrels are pesky little critters that can find a way to get into just about anything. Because of their size it is quite easy for them to get into a wide variety of entryways without much hassle, but even when there is some obstacle, their sharp and powerful teeth allow them to gnaw their way through and enter into your home.

Many Estero animal control find that a squirrel has found a way into their attic, and has made him or herself quite a nest there. This can make for a real mess if you do not let Estero exterminators handle the problem right away.

The problem is that you may not even know you have a problem with a squirrel until they have made a mess. At least that is the way it would seem, but the reality is that there are some signs that you can tell if they have been in your home or not.

The first way for Estero wildlife removal to tell is by simple observation. If you are concerned that they may be getting into your home, then go around the house and see if there are any holes, cracked boards or loose boards that would allow the squirrel access into your home. If so then you may have a problem.

If you do see this then spend a few hours watching to see if one appears out of the location you found. This is the simplest way to find out and just takes a little of your time.

You should also understand that squirrels are not in the habit of being quiet. They move quickly and with great velocity. This should mean that you can hear them moving about, or actually bounding about, if you just stop to listen. Keep in mind that a squirrel will most likely be awake during the day time, so Estero pest control will try to get some time where they listen attentively to see if they hear anything.

What may cause you to not hear anything is that a lot of attics are covered in insulation. This is going to muffle any noise that the squirrels may have made, so Estero animal trapping will have to do some looking around. Go into your attic with a flashlight and take a look around. Look for areas where the insulation looks like it has been torn or shredded, or for areas where there is a big build up of insulation (the nest). Also look to see if boxes you put in the attic have been torn. This should help you to see if you have a squirrel problem.
